Chocolate Pear Pudding* with Vanilla Almond Ice Cream and Chocolate Fudge Sauce
Different countries' cuisines have a corresponding mood for me like how Italian food has a maternal feel to it (just like what Mamma used to make~); Spanish food strike me as fiery and passionate (Ole~!); and French food is decadent and pampering (Ooh lala~).
What about British cuisine? It is not considered as high-ranking in popularity as its Mediterranean, Asian, and American counterpart; but it's got a special place in my heart. I definitely agree with what Gordon Ramsay said, "British food is all about comfort food."
British food for me symbolizes coziness. It's the sort of food that makes me want to have in a rainy day; while seated on a comfy couch by a huge window, keeping warm under a plaid (or Union Jack-printed) blanket, and reading an Agatha Christie novel.
I've always wanted to make this recipe ever since I watched Nigella Lawson make this pudding.
It's a good recipe to make picky kids get acquainted with fruits :D It sort of worked with my younger brother... until he noticed the pear. :D
Of course, this is lovely with a cup of tea :D
